FULL  TEXT   OF   SPEECH   OF   AL-HAJ  M. NASIM  KHAN,
LEADER OF STRANDED PAKISTANIS

&  CHIEF  PATRON,  S P G R C,  BANGLADESH,
DELIVERED  IN  THE  SEMINARY  HELD  ON
WEDNESDAY   5TH JUNE  1996
AT   NATIONAL   PRESS    CLUB,    DHAKA

AN    APPEAL

Since   the   assumption   of   power  in  October  1993  the Govt. of Prime   Minister   Benazir   Bhutto   did   not   convene   a   single  meeting  of  Rabita  Trust  to make  it  operational  at  all  levels.   We   wonder   whether   the   agreement   is   valid   now   or   it  has become  a  scrap paper.  The  Govt. of   Pakistan   is   maintaining  a  complete   mum   on   the   issue.   Rabita  Al-Alam  Islami  has  also its share  of responsibility being Co-Chairman in the Trust.  We   believe   and   expect   both   Rabita  &  Pakistan  Govt. should   rise   the   occasion   now   and   clarify   their   position   by  immediately  calling  a  meeting  of  the  Trust  to  help  the  sub-Committees  to  operate  in  Lahore  &  in  Dhaka  as  well  as  to  create   confidence   among   stranded   Pakistanis   in   particular  and   the   comity   of   nations   in   general.
