Spiritual See of the PERMANENT WORLD CONGRESS OF ALL THE RELIGIONS, FAITHS, FRATERNITIES AND PHILOSOPHIES, the 4th-of November, 1959.
MESSAGE from H.H.OM Lind-Schernrezig
To organize and steer a World Congress of all the Religions, Faiths, Fraternities and Philosophies to glamorous success is no easy task, in any normal time. To accomplish the same task and mission in a country in complete turmoil and rehearsing a brand-new humanitarian revolution is quite an other thing. Surrounded by all sorts of revolting passions and rehabilitating endeavors it becomes hard to find our bearing and to know exactly what is right or wrong, or how we must behave. In fact, after ten long days of intensive work in three daily Sessions, we wonder how we remain alive, as the stress and tear of constant efforts amid terrible dangers of treason, sabotage and threats or insults is something matchless as a trial imposed on human nature and character.
Still, we have strength to forge along. Now we cannot give up neither the ship nor the ideals. Patrick Henry once said: “Give me liberty or death”. Here we feel like saying: My Freedom for my life”, or in other words, “Life would be impossible without Freedom”. This is not cheap patriotism, but sound and transcendent philosophy of life, for what does life really mean without freedom. We have ample opportunity to discover that down here, the roman catholic Church sought by every conceivable means to break our faith, annul our prospects, destroy our will, sabotage our efforts, and render impossible all the fruits of our sacrifices. We were supposed to accept roman Catholicism whether we liked it or not. We were even threatened, cajoled, bribed and distracted to certain extents, but we always ended up realizing that without complete freedom life would be most miserable and irresponsible void and foolish to the utmost. Never did we consider giving up all hopes but we did see dark moments. It is no fun living amid fanatics inspired and invisibly led by roguish priests. True,
Despite all these harrowing trials, nevertheless, we hold no grudge against these morbid religionists who mistake the church for the religion, or under the impression that God can inspire ill will, hatred, devilish infamies, and sadistic inquisitional measures.
The roman Church claims that
There is neither Orient nor Occident, black or red brotherhood, long or short truth, Roman or Chinese Divine Light. The real Spiritual Truth is universal and eternal, and we come to realize it truly when we transcend all limitations and break loose from the fetters of materialistic living.
Our terrible experiences prove, however, that in the West there is much to be accomplished. Instead of sending Missions to the East, the West would gain far more by keeping their missionaries for themselves. What is more, the East could gain by doing the same. We all would gain more, however, by learning to be more compassionate and kind, and friendly and Brotherly, thus becoming shining beacons of Divine Love and Spiritual Truth.
The need for UNDERSTANDING, CO-OPERATION AND BROTHERHOOD is becoming each day more acute, and unless people realize the dangers that surround them in a world of growing problems and incisive materialism, all mankind will soon be a doomed victim. The attitude of the Roman Catholic Church and others here during the World Congress amply proves that no Religion, no group of peoples, no minority and no nation is safe from a certain invisible tyranny ruled by devilish hypocrites. In facts, if the whole world is subject to so much turbulence and social unrest today it is precisely because mankind at large is awakening and seeking to enjoy true democracy, social justices, religious integrity and freedom, and spiritual dignity, the which has been so greatly lacking in all the latitudes due to the wrong, evil, depredatory and obnoxious forms of politics and religion. When we see Churches teach a wonderful morality and philosophy, yet behave in contrary manner, we cannot but understand why the world is so replete with problems, vices, criminality and wars, and we are wont to sympathize with the wretched victims of all the prestigious falsehoods which make the law but never respect it, and that claim Divine authority but behave as though they were exalted servants of hell.
Needless to say, mankind is far from being perfect. Neither would it be intelligent to believe that human evolution can be accelerated and achieved in the span of a few months or years. Stills the fact remains that after so many thousands of years the human species remains ignorantly rampant, a victim of villainous superstition, addict to ominous and suicidal vices and interested in real Brotherhood and Religion, or Spiritual values, in fanciful symbolical and sensorial ways. Spiritual synthesis is still a far fetched dream, and zeal Spiritual Communion among the people of different creeds, faiths and races a shining ideal of unrealized proportions. The success in these wonderful fields is as yet too schematic and conventional, or superficial.
The day we see Vedantins, Jains, Buddhists, Brahmins, Taoists, Christians, Jews, Hemetists, Parsis, Masons, Spiritualists, Rosicrucians, Essenes and Bahais convene in friendly and sagacious manner, or when the people of all the Churches and nations really accept to work together for the common good and true Peace, Social Welfare and Brotherhood-Commonwealth as during this World Congress, which we are holding in Cuba, that days indeed, we shall be able to believe in manes decision to live as a great intelligent and righteous Family, or Spiritual Order. Of course, this grand ideal is being slowly enacted into positive reality, but the progress done is so little and unimportant in comparison with the tremendous egotism, sectarianism and self-centeredness of the systems of orthodoxy and armed citadels that we cannot but weep at the failure. This is better understood, of course, when we see societies which call themselves “GOODWILL”, "DIVINE CHURCH", "WORLD FELLOWSHIP", “DHARMA-SANGHA”, "UNIVERSAL LOVE AND WISDOM", etc. fared their own sectarian traits unmindful of the genuine realization of the principles they vaunt so much, and/or disrespectful toward one another. The world is cruel, yes, but because human folks make it so, and only because it is soiled, divided, distorted and soaked with blood by mischief makers, warmongers and so many prestigious religious fanatics of all sorts.
The responsibility of all religious humanist, fraternal, spiritualist, learned, mystical and philosophical organizations, and of their glamorous leaders, of course, is to solve world problems and create peace and brotherhoods instead of so much prattling about Divine Truth and Spiritual principles. No amount of praying and meditation will make people any better if they do not begin by cleaning their mind, awakening their conscience and purifying their heart, and if they behave like rogues, fiends or crooks, they should realize that it would be foolish to expect the world to be better. Instead of preaching, we should begin by improving ourselves. Instead of going out on
