THE USU AS A FOUNDATION FOR

"WORLD FEDERATION AND WORLD GOVERNMENT"

Whether this be known or not, there has existed at all times a Universal Spiritual Government, and it has been named in different ways, such as "Heavenly Hosts", "Divine Law-Givers", "Holy Court of Chohans", "Great White Lodge", or "Holy Aghartha". It is constituted by Sages and truly Enlightened Souls, and it usually functions through the legalized outer instrumentality known as Great White (Spiritual and Universal) Brotherhood.

This Aghartha or World Spiritual Government is of course a private enterprise, and it is oftentimes referred to as the Holy Court of the Invisible Universal Empire. As a matter of fact all Religious Theocracies are copies from this Heavenly, and all political empires are but faint replicas of this magnificent Spiritual Government, except that they are shorn of its Moral force and Spiritual Values.

The Great White Brotherhood, whose directors are Regents appointed by the August Aghartha, accomplishes tasks of Spiritual enlightenment and uplift, as well as of cultural implication in different parts of the world. It is non-sectarian and non-political, and also non-prejudiced toward any race, creed or clan. It stands for Spiritual Values, Universal Citizenship and Humanitarian Service.

Those who are enlightened enough to understand these portents and capable of the high moral standard it emphasizes will realize that there it plows many substitutes for Sacred Ideals and Universal ennobling Principles, but none are effective and portentous as their authentic essentials. This should warn all people in regard to false and delusive systems, which only exploit and mislead true sincerity and earnestness.

The UNIVERSAL SERVICE UNION was founded by Sages, and is still conducted by them. As such, it stands as the Great White Brotherhood's body, in which merge all truly moral, wise and enlightening organisms, and toward which all noble souls look to for world accomplishments in the realm of economic-social needs. It puts Spiritual ideals in practical terms of economic realization and social ideals, in accord with the highest humanistic aspirations.

Now, the USU has no need of Mount Ararat, Mt. Olympus or Mt. Sinai. Its field of action is right in the heart of people, and in their vital needs.

The USU abides by Universal Principles which have not been as yet completely tabulated, but which can be seen at work in the majesty of Universal Nature.

The USU is governed, as we already know, by a Board of Directors, which are the most chosen Souls of the whole world, and a selection of these integrates the higher, inspiring body, or PARLIAMENT OF MAN. In this structural and functional realization, all human ideals find their place, and all noble endeavors have their channel of expression, UNBIASSELDLY AND UNLIMITEDLY. Of course, sectarianism and totalitarianism have no possible grip on our mechanism, because our Spiritual Dynamics is foreign to whatever form of selfish design or personalistic implication, and certainly no doctrinal fancy or orthodoxical absolutism will ever have any significance for us.

In this manner, the USU is in essence an ideal yet most effective foundation for WORLD FEDERATION or UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD, and WORLD GOVERNMENT or Ruler ship of Spiritual Values and Moral Force. It is the exemplary Constitution of Individual RIGHT AND DIGNITY, as well as of the AUTONOMY AND SOVEREIGNTY of Social groups. Its Universalism and Universality is unquestionably its best guarantee of prestige, power and authority in the noblest sense of righteousness and Spiritual realization, and we all know that only Universal Principles are truly moral in essence and commendable in effect, beside being eternal.

The USU's unbiased, unprejudiced IDEALS, made practical in utter tolerance and exemplary dignity, makes it the ideal foundation for a WORLD FEDERATION or WORLD GOVERNMENT when humanity is really ready for such a wonderful social accomplishment. Yet, we must remind people that this social accomplishment lies in Spiritual conquests, and not on political fiddling and boisterous daydreaming. A World Law must be enacted first, and it takes of morality to do that, the which the world is tragically in need.

Otherwise the USU is not in the least interested in wrestling prestige, power or authority in any way. It accepts the ideal of World Government, which we all deem necessary, but we do not vie for it ourselves. In fact, our Statutes and Bylaws clearly specify that "once there is a World Government, morally and peacefully constituted, the USU will merge with it, ceasing to exist separately". This being a measure to ensure our disinterest in purposes which are foreign to us. As for WORLD FEDERATION, we do not know of any other instance where it is better accomplished than through the USU, since we gather people of all creeds, societies of all aims and character, and people of all races, bonded in sacred Unity above all their religious, political, racial and economic-social differences, and such a miracle has never been produced before, not even by the Gods of Olympian might.

For the benefit of those who have queried about our being a "secret society", and "anti-communistic", we promptly assert that we have no attachment or sympathies with any sort of "secret science" or "secret groups"; that we are neither anti this or anti that; and that our activities are in the wide open, we have no secret meetings of any kind, we impose no secret oaths on any one, we wield no veto or "excommunion", and we do not indulge in any form of "class warfare" or "sectarian absolutism", because we are at the SERVICE of Humanity, and all our aims and ideals take the shape and significance of Universal Principles, exclusively.
